Translating your Research Impact for the Business Media: Story at 11.
How academics can raise awareness in the media about your research and your subject matter expertise.
On April 21, 2023 I was a panelist for an American Accounting Association “weARE Webinar Series” program: Translating your Research Impact for the Business Media: Story at 11.
The goal of the program was to support accounting academics who want to get their work mentioned more often in popular media, publish their own pieces to get the word out about their research, and be quoted more frequently about their research and their subject matter expertise.
My fellow panelists included old friend Patrick T. Kelly, Ph.D., Professor of Accountancy and Director, Ethics in Business Education Program at Providence College School of Business in Rhode Island and David Twiddy, Managing Editor for AAA journals. Lisa Baudot, who was an Ethics Symposium Co-Organizer, had the idea after Pat and I spoke more than once at the last Symposium in conjunction with the AAA Annual Meeting. Karen Osterhleld, Senior Director in the AAA Center for Advancing Accounting Education shepherded us to the finish line.
Here’s my favorite slide for my presentation.
